Successful project meeting held at ETH Zurich, hosted by Agroscope

Members present their progress so far

After 18 months of initial research the LegumePlus project members and researchers (ESR/ERs) have met in Zurich to discuss progress and preliminary results of the first year and a half of research.  Despite difficulties with travel due to airline strikes in France, nearly all of the project members were able to attend and compare their methods and plans for the coming few years.

The meeting consisted of presentations by the researchers on their experiments so far, administatration meetings, and site visits to the field trials being carried out by the hosts, Agroscope.  Project members were also treated to a visit to the Agroscope Reckenholz facility and to guest lectures at ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) by Michael Kreuzer on animal nutrition, Achim Walter on plant phenotyping, and Bruno Studer on plant breeding.

After a successful meeting the researchers will now continue their training at Zurich before proceeding with their work leading up to the project mid-term review in Reading (UK) later this year.
